Shirley Leslie died peacefully at home in Winchester on Sunday 19 August 2018 after a short but cruel illness. She was the adored wife of Ken for 62 happy years, inspirational mother to Caroline and Sarah, deeply loved mother-in-law of Gerry Shutt, loving and always interested Gran to Daniel and Jamie.

Shirley created happy homes for Ken and their daughters across the UK and SE Asia, often at short notice - so viewed her passing as 'just another posting', but this time she was travelling ahead rather than following Ken...

When she needed palliative care, she didn't see Basingstoke or Southampton Hospices as options - given the travel involved for Ken. So, just before she died, she asked for any kind donations to be made in her memory to the Winchester Hospice building fund.
